Sorry for the lack of 2004 info on the site this site will be getting another face lift and a whole new purpose for the fan.

It can't be the fan's fault!

In most cases in the CFL you can't blame the fan for a poor on field product, but Hamilton is unique. In recent years we have had the best team in the league, a Grey Cup Championship team or at least a team that had a chance of winning the great game of November. And not one of these teams could spark the fans of the black and gold to buy a ticket. You can't blame the owners they've tried or the coach he is one of the best and if you are pointing your finger at the players well don't. The players that can are trying and the players that can't, well on any other team they wouldn't be dressing but for the cash strapped Tigers they are forced into play. And that my friend is the fault of ownership, fan ownership! That is you, me and the empty seat next to you at the game.

Most people of this city are fans but for some reason are scared to admit it. Come the Labour Day Classic you can look around and see 3types of fans that day. Type 1 is the 14000+ true fan, this is the fan that is always there and will always be there. Type 2 is the same as Type 1 except they have a reason not an excuse but a reason for not being at the games. And then we come to Type 3 these are the people that when the team is doing well they come out of their shell and say words like OURS but when the team slips or falls they add the Y back in front. These same people will die for a team miles away in the United States and proudly pound their chest no matter what that teams record. I just don't get it! I guess that for some it's easier to follow the pack, well not for this Hamiltonian. I will always love calling the Hamilton Tiger Cats my team, I will wear my pride whether they are 18-0 or 0-18. My pride is not formed from John Madden, money or little robots that run across the screen to show me the score. My pride is formed from sharing a history with something that I have grown with and can truly call my own.

This team may not always be there but this fan will.

Hamilton Tiger-Cat Pep Band !

The Tiger-Cat band that entertained fans in Hamilton from the early 1950s to the early 1980s is looking forward to beginning anew in the 2003 season. The enthusiastic group is led by Band President and Director Rick Allen.

Look for us at all Hamilton home games -- and maybe a road game or two. We're always looking for new members.

Help welcome back the band.

The Grrreat Depression!

The only receivers that should be left standing after the Riders game should be Amerson and Shaw the rest should be gone. Sorry Akins even you!

The Grrreat Depression might be a regular article this year unless the Cats start winning.

What do you think we should do?

What did you expect?

In regards to Friday night's game against Ottawa, I never want Hamilton to loose but if it had to be I am glad it was Ottawa. Ottawa is my pick for the team of the East this year I think they have the right package, good management, coaching and good young talent. What did you expect the Cats to do anyways win? It is not as if we have a stellar steam this year. Even though I believe our team can do wonders if they want to. It's just that our oppositions are just going to be stronger this year. Whether you like it or not Toronto has the chance to beat any team in the league if they could get all that talent going, not that I want them too. Montreal may not be a powerhouse now that Pringle and hot head are gone but they have a good team and even better coaching. If we want to be better then the rest we need to build from what we got. If we use the resources we have it will help make Hamilton a better team. We can use Danny boy and Reggie as mentors to Pete Gonzalez like Montreal used Tracey Ham to mentor Calvillo. If we are going to have success this year it will have to be on the smarts of the coaches and hearts of the players because the age of our key players are creeping up on us and our talent is slipping away.

Let me know how you feel about this years Cats

Inactivity in an active off season

The Hamilton Tiger Cats must be having the most un-active off season activity out of all the CFL teams. Shelling was the most recent re-signing but the way things are going thank God the Cats signed anybody. With the amount of big fish in the free agent pond the Cats have elected to sign little baby fish with aspirations they will become big fish. Now I trust Lancaster, I know he is one of the best but when big fish go little fish just won't fill their spot.

What do you think
